Hyderabad: The Ganesh immersion processions across the city are proceeding peacefully with no untoward incidents so far.

In the Old City, the much awaited procession of the Balapur Ganesh has crossed the Chandrayangutta junction by 2 pm. The Balapur Ganesh, one of the most popular Ganesh idols in Hyderabad with the associated mammoth laddu that was auctioned for a whopping Rs.18.9 lakh this year, saw his route being made smooth with the authorities opening the new Falaknuma Road under Bridge exclusively for the idol’s procession.

A slight drizzle since morning has not deterred the religious fervour and spirit of the processions, with several idols crossing the Charminar without any hindrance.

Several idols are yet to commence their journey to the Hussain Sagar with organizers leaving no stone unturned to give the trucks carrying the idols a colorful look.
