Mancherial: Members of the Forum for Right to Sit requested the district president of Chamber of Commerce Welfare Association Gunda Sudhakar to implement the Right to Sit for women employees working in apparel stores while working as was being done in Kerala and Tamil Nadu. They submitted a representation to Sudhakar here on Tuesday.
One of the members, Bolishetti Padmaja, said women workers were facing many health problems as they had to remain standing for hours together. She pointed out that employees were being diagnosed with orthopaedic related ailments after being forced to stand for around 12 hours a day. She urged the president to take steps to implement the right to sit act.
Members Alladi Srinivas, Peddi Bharat, Nalla Nagendra Prasad, Kududula Srinivas, Bolishetti Nagendra, Shiva and Thilak were present.
