Khammam: The muhurtam is set for the house warming ceremony of double bedroom houses built at Tekulapally near Khammam, informed Transport Minister, Puvvada Ajay Kumar.
The minister along with District Collector, VP Gautham inspected a complex of newly constructed houses, named KCR Towers, on Saturday. Speaking on the occasion, he said 1004 beneficiaries to whom the houses were allotted would perform house warming ceremony on Dasara festival day.
Ajay revealed that of the 52 blocks constructed selection of beneficiaries in 42 blocks was completed and the officials were directed make arrangements for the inauguration of the houses on Dasara. He told officials and contractors to complete pending works in the remaining 10 blocks at the earliest and keep the houses ready for inauguration on Deepavali festival day. The minister asked the revenue officials to complete the selection of beneficiaries for the 10 blocks at the earliest.
Anganwadi centre, shopping complex and medical sub-centre at the double bedroom houses complex have to be readied for inauguration, Ajay Kumar told the concerned officials. Later in the day, the minister inspected ongoing beautification works of Gollapadu channel at Prakash Nagar bridge in the city. He directed the officials to speed up the works and warned that action would be taken against concerned officials if there was any delay in the works.
In another programme, Ajay Kumar released posters related to celebrations to be organised for two days at Lakaram tank bund marking Tourism Day on Sept 27. MLC, B Lakshminarayana, SUDA Chairman, B Vijay Kumar, Mayor, P Neeraja, Khammam Market Committee Chairperson, Lakshmi Prasanna, Municipal Commissioner, Adarsh Surabhi and others were present.
