Hyderabad: The Indian National Centre for Ocean Information Services (MoES-INCOIS) at Hyderabad observed Open Day on Friday, as a preamble for the upcoming India International Science Festival (IISF), according to a press release. Students from several high schools, colleges, teachers, parents and others have visited the INCOIS on the occasion, it said.
This was the first public event by INCOIS since the pandemic where the visitors were introduced to INCOIS through a short documentary followed by visits of various laboratories and ocean instruments, and other activities which revolved around the theme of IISF, which is ‘Celebrating creativity in science” and the five pillars of “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahostav”
Ananya, a student of Class IX, said, “This visit has made me sure that I want to pursue a career in ocean science.”
“INCOIS looks forward to offering more such opportunities to fellow citizens” said its Director T Srinivasa Kumar said. Students, who made videos on their visit, can submit them to INCOIS as video blog entries on www.incois.gov.in, said the statement.
