Hyderabad: Almost one month has passed, but the laying of the new water pipeline near KBR Park remains halted. As the work site is located on a very busy road, commuters are facing inconvenience during peak hours. Hundreds of vehicles slow down at the site, resulting in traffic jams.

The Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWS&SB) dug a deep excavation to lay a new water pipeline after noticing heavy leakages. Officials began the work last month but have not yet complete it.

HMWS&SB Manager (Engineering) of Banjara Hills section, K Rambabu, told Telangana Today, “Traffic cops allowed the Water Board to do work during late night (between 12 midnight and up to 6 am) as there is not much traffic on the road. While works are in full swing to lay the new water pipeline, incessant rains hampered the work, resulting in an inordinate delay in completing the work.”

The work will be completed within two days once the rains stop, said the Water Board official.
