Siddipet: In the wake of increasing Covid-19 cases, District Collector P Venkatrami Reddy has instructed the officials to increase the number of oxygen supported beds in the district to 350 from the existing 120 besides increasing the ICU bed strength for Covid-19 patients.
Addressing the officials from various wings of administration on Saturday over tele-conference, the Collector instructed them to increase bed strength from 120 to 150 at Government Medical College besides creating additional 50-bed facility at Primary Health Centre, Nanganur,100-bed facility at RVM Private Medical College and 50-bed facility at Surabhi Medical College.

Asking the health department officials to make the private hospitals in the district to create some Oxygen supported bed facilities to help the government combat the Covd-19, Reddy has directed the officials to send a report to him twice in a day on the beds availability and number admitted patients. He has asked them to admit the patients suffering from lung infection immediately in the hospital. The Collector instructed them to set up help desks at Government Hospital, Government Medical College and RVM Private Medical College to attend the calls from the patients and their kin. He has observed that they can fight the pandemic only with team work. Additional Collector Mujammil Khan, District Medical and Health Officer Dr Manohar, Medical College Principal Tamila Arasu, Health officials Dr Kasinath, Dr Mahesh and others attended the meeting.
