Hyderabad: India is all set to face New Zealand in the final of Champions Trophy 2025, which promises to be a cracker of a game as both teams are in red hot form.

While the Indian team goes into the finals undefeated in the tournament, the Kiwis, who were also put in the same pool as India, lost the solitary league-stage match against the men in blue.

After the 2023 ODI World Cup final and the 2024 T20 World Cup final, tomorrow’s match will mark India’s third consecutive final appearance in ICC limited overs events.

Speaking about the upcoming match on his YouTube channel, for Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has said that he does not have a great feeling ahead of the final.

“I am still having nerves. I am not having the greatest of feelings. After New Zealand’s win against South Africa, I am feeling that once again they can hurt us,” said  Ashwin.

With all teams except India having to play at different venues and India playing all their matches in Dubai, a narrative of the team being given an undue advantage has been set. Several former cricketers, cricket experts have alleged that the schedule of team India offers them an advantage due to the reduced travel time and familiarity of playing conditions.

Countering the narrative, Aswhin said “This narrative is being set by a team which comes to India, loses 4-0 and blames the pitch to throw mud on our players and our board. Don’t go for the narrative.”
