India Under-17 women’s team arrive in Uzbekistan for two friendlies
India's Under-17 women's team have arrived in Tashkent for two friendly matches against Uzbekistan on August 27 and 30. The games are part of preparations for the AFC Under-17 Women's Asian Cup China 2027 Qualifiers scheduled in Malaysia in October

Hyderabad: The India Under-17 women’s team arrived in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, ahead of their two friendly matches against the hosts on August 27 and 30. Head coach Joakim Alexandersson has taken a 23-player squad for the closed-door matches.
The Young Tigresses began training in Bengaluru on July 16, and these will be their first two friendlies as part of their preparations for the AFC Under-17 Women’s Asian Cup China 2027 Qualifiers. Both matches will take place at the UFA National Football Centre in the Uzbek capital and will kick off at 10:30 IST.
The Qualifiers are scheduled to take place from October 5 to 11 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. India have been drawn in Group E alongside Iraq, Syria and hosts Malaysia.
India squad for Uzbekistan friendlies:
Goalkeepers: Munni, Sanatombi Devi Irengbam, Sonam Ghosh.
Defenders: Abhista Basnett, Ambalika Chanu Khundongbam, Joyshini Chanu Huidrom, Ritu Badaik, Sharvari Mane, Taniya Devi Tonambam.
Midfielders: Alva Devi Senjam, Bonifilia Shullai, Julan Nongmaithem, Monika Devi Wairokpam, Pritika Barman, Redima Devi Chingkhamayum, Silky Devi Sorokhaibam, Thandamoni Baskey, Yashica Haribabu.
Forwards: Anushka Kumari, Deepika Kumari, Joya, Nidhi, Nira Chanu Longjam.
