Indian Bank launches awareness drive for Rs 10 coin acceptance in Telangana, AP

G. Rajeswara Reddy, the FGM of Indian Bank in Hyderabad, inaugurated the program and encouraged customers and the public to accept Rs. 10 coins as legal tender, urging them to spread this message throughout the state.

Hyderabad: To spread awareness among public to improve acceptance towards usage of Rs 10 coins instead of currency notes, the Indian Bank organized a two-day public awareness drive at its 480 branches in Telangana State and Andhra Pradesh between October 21 and October 22.

As a part of these efforts, the Indian Bank held an awareness program at its Himayatnagar branch in which bank customers, public, traders etc participated.

The FGM of Indian Bank, Hyderabad, G. Rajeswara Reddy, who inaugurated the program, urged its customers and general public to accept Rs.10 coins as a legal tender and also to help to percolate this message across the State.

The senior bank official said that both the Telugu States are far behind in the circulation of Rs Rs.10 coins, which requires immediate change in public perception through awareness and adoption.

Around 20 lakh coins of Rs 10 (value of Rs.2 crore) expected to be added to circulation through Indian Bank branches during the campaign period in TS and AP. S. Srinivasa Rao, Zonal Manager and Swarna Prava Sundarray, AGM, Himayatnagar branch along with other executives, Branch Managers and staff members actively participated in the program.
