Hyderabad: In retaliation for the Pahalgam terror attack, Indian armed forces carried out missile strikes early Wednesday on nine terror targets in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, including the Jaish-e-Mohammad stronghold in Bahawalpur and Lashkar-e-Taiba’s base in Muridke.

The military strikes, conducted under ‘Operation Sindoor’, took place two weeks after the massacre of 26 civilians in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam.

Following the attacks, a barrage of misinformation emerged from Pakistani media outlets and government-affiliated sources, attempting to distort the narrative of India’s counterterrorism operation.

Multiple Pakistani government-linked media houses and social media accounts began circulating unverified and misleading claims in the hours following the strikes. Many of these claims were quickly flagged as fake by independent analysts and India’s official fact-checking mechanisms.

Indian fact-checkers and netizens have been active since the time of the attack to strongly counter the Pakistani propaganda and misinformation which is widely being spread in the wake of the attacks. Fact-checker and co-founder of ‘Alt News’, Mohammed Zubair, has been among those actively debunking the falsehoods being spread as part of the propaganda.

In a series of tweets, he debunked several old, doctored, or amplified videos and posts shared by Pakistani propagandist pages under the guise of Indian identities.

Here are some of Zubair’s tweets:

Beware! These are Pakistani propaganda accounts pretending to be Indian Army Personals.
