Hyderabad: Trained Indian nurses are in huge demand abroad and across India, especially in the tier-2 towns and smaller cities, new data released by Indeed India, the job listings portal, on Tuesday indicated.

The data revealed a steady rise in nurse roles across India and an upward progression in interest among nursing professionals globally, a press release said.

Nursing job postings in India have grown 44 per cent since March 2020, with jobseeker interest surging 75 per cent. “The data tells us that India has the potential to lead the world in supplying skilled, compassionate healthcare talent,” says Sashi Kumar, Head (Sales), Indeed India.

Smaller cities like Karimnagar, Ulhasnagar (Maharashtra) etc are emerging as unexpected hubs for nurse job openings. In Ulhasnagar alone, over 15 percent of all job postings are for nursing roles, indicating that such cities are now being seen as fertile ground for healthcare hiring.

The domestic demand for nurses in India recorded 15 per cent year-on-year increase in job postings between March 2023 and March 2024. According to data, the share of outbound clicks from Indian users on nurse jobs abroad rose by 22.5 percent between February 2023 and February 2025.

The United States attracted the highest share of outbound interest, accounting for 39 percent of clicks on nurse jobs from Indian users searching abroad, followed by UAE (16 percent), UK (13 percent), Canada (12 percent), and Australia (11 percent).
