Hyderabad: The Round of 32 at the FIP Silver Radha TMT Indian Open witnessed a strong showing from the Indian contingent as several home players progressed to the Round of 16 here on Friday.
Among those advancing were S. Sharma and H. Samah, D. Gowda and V. Kotha, A. Kumar and M. Hyder, along with the Indo-British pair of S. Colah and A Patel, and wildcard duo C. De Sanctis and Prakhyath Kc. Their victories set the stage for an exciting next round as the competition heats up at the KPGBA courts in Hyderabad.
Italy’s P. Farabbi and Spain’s A. Pozo Rius defeated India’s S. Narde and M. Sreekumar 6-2, 6-2. India’s S. Sharma and H. Samah recorded an impressive win over India’s A. Kontham and Australia’s R. Sirigiri 6-2, 7-6(5). India’s D. Gowda and V. Kotha advanced to the next round after receiving a walkover against France’s K. Mouimen and L. Jover. Great Britain’s E. Bardo and Egypt’s M. Hesham progressed after receiving a walkover from Spain’s R. Coello Manso and B. Castro Garcia (3).
India’s E. Sai Teja and R. Kishore progressed after receiving a walkover from Kuwait’s A. Kocharyan and M. Tuwainah.
France’s Y. Borgel and S. Charni advanced to the next round following a walkover against Australia’s D. Hall and V. Nifontov. Spain’s M. Melero Bernal and Italy’s N. Zurita (6) defeated India’s A. Kalyanpur and A. Varghese 6-1, 6-1. Finally, India’s D. Arora and A. Ahmed advanced to the next round after receiving a walkover from Italy’s D. Perino and Argentina’s I. Piotto Albornoz (1).
