India’s largest women-owned businesses expo to be held at HITEX for 3 days

Hyderabad: Over 150 women entrepreneurs from across India will be showcasing their products at the second edition BWE-2022, India’s largest platform for women-led businesses.

HITEX and Confederation of Women Enterprises are all geared up to jointly host the Business Women Expo from March 11 to 13 at Hitex. It features women-owned business enterprises, novel, and disruptive businesses.


TiE Hyderabad is its knowledge partner. The other supporting bodies include the Development Commissionerate of the Ministry of MSME, DICCI, HYSEA, FTCCI, and others.

Some of these innovative and disruptive businesses include Cocotang which offers 121 varieties of tender coconut-based mocktails, pulp shakes, and vegan coffees; Holy Waste that turns temple waste into useful products; Wud Box that produces bamboo toothbrushes, etc; Vistaraku Leaf Tableware which is trying to revive the tradition of eating on leaves, and patent applied Millet Bowl, a millet-based Proteinshaik that one can drink and eat.

According to the Joint Director of MSME Development Institute Ministry of MSME CSS Rao, the Ministry of MSME through its International Cooperation Scheme helps MSMEs go global. It also listed out 697 global programs where MSMEs can exhibit their products.

The Business Women Expo 2022 is a B2B and B2C exhibition. MSME is supporting 44 stalls through the Procurement and Marketing Support (PMS) Scheme.

On the second day of the event, an Investor Connect program will be organized.

Rashida Adenwala, Vice President, TiE, said “Over 70 entrepreneurs showed keen interest and submitted their entries to participate in the Investors Connect Program. We have shortlisted some and curated 20, who will pitch their idea in front of the Jury Panel of Investors and if they like the idea, they will invest in the company.”

Business Idea Competition finals will be held during the expo. The finals will be held on March 11 and winners will be given away prizes.

A job drive will be conducted by Qentelli and Progress. The expo will have a food entrepreneur pavilion, which will be a platform for food entrepreneurs and food innovators. It will have 30 stalls.

The expo also will have a platform for new business ideas. In addition, a Women’s Run will be held.
