IndiGo flight carrying CM Revanth Reddy lands on second attempt at Hyderabad airport
An IndiGo flight carrying Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy made two landing attempts at Hyderabad's Rajiv Gandhi International Airport due to heavy rain and unstable weather. The aircraft landed safely after circling for about 20 minutes. A similar incident occurred in June.
Hyderabad: An IndiGo flight from New Delhi to Hyderabad, carrying Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, had to make two attempts to land at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Shamshabad on Wednesday night due to inclement weather.
The aircraft aborted its initial landing approach because of heavy rain and unstable weather conditions over Hyderabad. It then circled in the air for about 20 minutes before successfully landing on its second attempt at around 8.35 p.m. The flight was carrying about 229 passengers, according to reports.
This is the second such incident involving the Chief Minister’s flight in recent weeks. On June 12, another IndiGo flight carrying Revanth Reddy from New Delhi to Hyderabad was diverted to Bengaluru after airport authorities denied landing permission at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport due to adverse weather conditions.
The flight, which was scheduled to land at 9.15 p.m., was diverted after heavy rain lashed Hyderabad that night. The Chief Minister returned to Hyderabad the following day.
