Khammam: Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy stated that the government would sanction Indiramma houses to SDRF personnel, who took part in rescue operations at Bethupalli tank in Sathupalli, if any of them does not own a house.
Referring to the rescue operations the Minister commended the SDRF and NDRF personnel for their tireless work. The dedicated, round-the-clock efforts of the officials and staff from various departments made the rescue operations successful, with no loss of life, he said.
The Minister directed the district Collectors of Khammam and Kothagudem to identify personnel among the teams who do not own a home and to submit a list of such eligible individuals, stating that the government would initiate a special programme to sanction ‘Indiramma’ houses for them.
Speaking at a review meeting at Sathupalli in the district on Thursday he directed the officials of both the districts to prepare and submit detailed estimates of crop and infrastructure losses caused by cyclonic rains in the past few days.
The reports have to be submitted to the government within the next two to three days, treating the situation as a disaster-related event, he said. Minister Srinivas Reddy wanted the Collectors of Khammam and Kothagudem conduct on-site inspections to assess the losses.
