Hyderabad: For the first time in India, GravityZip is all set to offer the thrill of flying high, and of simulated free fall, with its indoor skydiving at Gandipet in the city. There is no plane nor is there a parachute, just ride the smooth column of air that is created by a wind tunnel at the facility that is gearing up to open its door for thrill seekers next month.
It was three years ago that Ram Meda and Sushil Meda decided on starting the project where the experience is made available inside a vertical cylindrical tunnel made of high-quality glass. Individuals can fly to the height they are comfortable with.
Says Ram, “I wanted to convert the dream of flying into a reality for everyone. Skydiving is extremely expensive, and most people do not have adequate training and experience. However, indoor skydiving provides proper training and experience.”

In fact, the indoor experience lasts three times longer than freefall from a plane, he says adding, “It also is less risky and the fear aspect is cut down.” Due to unfavorable climatic conditions in India, many people travel abroad to get a few seconds of flying experience. The indoor skydiving experience, according to Ram, is just as good as the outdoor sport.
The staff here will be certified trainers from Europe and the entire skydiving experience would be of 40-minutes including training. “Finding out the right technology and equipment took us three years. And then, the pandemic too slowed down things,” shares Ram.
The indoor skydiving here is to cost about Rs 2,000 to 3,000 and GravityZip is offering vouchers on its website prior to its launch.
