Hyderabad: In a tragic incident, a 13-month-old baby girl died after she fell from the fifth floor of a multi-storied building in Habeebnagar on Wednesday.
The infant, Akshara, lived with her parents B Shiva Kumar and Anitha on the fourth floor of the residential building. According to the police, as both her parents were working professionals, whenever they went out to work or for shopping, they left the child with her grandmother, who was living on the fifth floor of the same building.
On Wednesday afternoon, the parents went out leaving the child with her grandmother. It is suspected that Akshara, while playing, came out of the house and slipped and fell from between the railings of the balcony. “She fell from the fifth floor on to the road. She was rushed to Niloufer Hospital, where the doctors declared her dead,” said M Narender, Inspector (Habeebnagar).
Based on a complaint, the Habeebnagar police booked a case and took up investigation.
