Hyderabad: The second wave of Covid-19 which hit India recently has had a devastating effect on the country. While the covid positivity rate in the second wave increased by many folds in most States compared to the first one, the number of deaths have also hit the roof.

With 3,03,751 deaths as on May 23, India is one of the countries with most number of deaths. As data suggests with a population of over 130 crore – 1,300 million (when counted in millions) – on an average India at the moment is seeing 3.04 deaths per million each day.

The number of people infected with the virus on May 23, stands at 189.99 people per million, which translates to about 2.5 lakh individuals.

Here is the break up of vaccinations in India. About 10.87% of the country’s 130 crore population has received at least one dose of vaccine, while only 3.02% have been fully vaccinated as of May 23.
