Hyderabad: Municipal Administration Minister K T Rama Rao on Monday said the State government was creating infrastructure facilities to improve living standards of the people.
Replying to questions raised by members during question hour in the State Assembly, he said new roads were added to ease traffic congestion which saved a lot of time for the people. “If a new road is laid, economic activity will increase and it will also improve the living standards of the people in the State,” he said.
Explaining in detail the various projects taken up especially construction of flyovers and link roads in Hyderabad, Rama Rao said construction of flyovers including Cable Bridge in Madhapur, Biodiversity flyover and Balanagar flyover among others were completed.
Construction of a steel bridge from Indira Park to VST is also underway. The construction of flyovers were taken up at a cost of over Rs 2,000 crore under SRDP, he said, explaining the importance of SRDP project in making the city a global city.
