MLA Jogu Ramanna addresses officials of various departments during a review meeting held in Adilabad on Monday
Adilabad: Adilabad MLA Jogu Ramanna told district authorities to make collective efforts to tackle the Covid-19 pandemic. He was speaking at a review meeting over the situation of the Covid-19 pandemic in Adilabad on Monday.
Ramanna urged the officials to create awareness among the public over the disease and to vaccinate the eligible. He advised them to form coordination committees at the village level and to speed up the vaccination drive. He told them to carry out investigations at check posts on the borders of Telangana and Maharashtra which was seeing rapid cases.
The legislator advised the authorities to devise an action plan to carry out the vaccination programme, to cover public representatives and employees of the government. He told them to make the elected representatives a part of the drive. He asked them to impose a fine of Rs 1,000 against those who do not wear face masks.
Additional Collector M David said that awareness programmes were intensified in both rural and urban parts considering the alarming rise of positive cases of Covid-19 in a few days. He stated that the cases were going up day by day and the district had still 1,777 active cases. He added that vaccination against the virus was being held through 29 centres across the district.
David further said that mobile teams were deployed for conducting tests to diagnose the infections and the investigations were being organized at 30 centres. Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS)-Adilabad director Dr B Balaram said that 350 beds and 400 beds equipped with oxygen were readied for providing treatment to the patients of Covid-19.
Adilabad Revenue Officer Jadi Rajeshar, District Rural Development Officer Kishan, Additional DRDO Ravinder Rathod and officials of various departments were present.
