Mancherial: A Circle Inspector was placed under suspension for his alleged role in misappropriating paddy worth Rs 1.39 crore from the Civil Supplies Department by showing excess stocks at a procurement centre in Jaipur mandal. The suspension orders were issued on Saturday.
Srirampur Inspector Venuchandar was suspended for allegedly trying to shield those involved in the misappropriation of paddy procured at the centre for Narsingapur and Maddulapalli villages by uploading false data in departmental records.
A case had already been registered against 13 persons following a complaint from Civil Supplies officials. One of the accused, Thatipalli Saikumar, was arrested on November 1. Special teams have been formed to trace the remaining offenders.
Owners of a newly established rice mill had reportedly shown inflated data of paddy stocks worth Rs 1.39 crore with the help of traders from Maharashtra.
