Hyderabad: In a noble gesture, Telangana NRI Srinivas Potti extended financial assistance to a student to pursue medical education. BRS working president KT Rama Rao along with family members of Srinivas handed over the cheque to the medical student B Meghana and her parents at his residence in Nandinagar on Tuesday.

Meghana, the eldest of three daughters of B Ramesh and Manjula, comes from a humble background. Her family runs a small tiffin centre at Government Hospital in Shadnagar. Despite financial hardships, Meghana excelled academically and secured a medical seat. However, the family could not afford to pay the fee and approached KT Rama Rao who pledged to assist her. Learning about his assurance, NRI Srinivas Potti came forward to contribute the first year fee for Meghana.

The BRS working president presented another cheque, facilitated by Srinivas Potti, to the family of Sika Prashanth, a young man from Station Ghanpur who passed away recently, leaving behind wife and a three-year-old child. Srinivas provided Rs 50,000 to support Prashanth’s family in their difficult times.
