Hyderabad: In a reel that’s sparking lively conversation across social media, Instagram content creator Suraj Randheer has drawn a striking parallel between the storyline of the Telugu blockbuster Pushpa 2 and the real-life moves of tech magnate Elon Musk in the political arena of the United States.

In the film, Allu Arjun’s character, Pushpa Raj, is seen requesting a photograph with the Chief Minister as per his wife Srivalli’s wish. When the CM brushes off the request, Pushpa takes matters into his own hands, cleverly orchestrating a political reshuffle to install a more agreeable Chief Minister — just so he can get that photograph which his wife wished to get framed and displayed in their living room.

Randheer draws a metaphorical line to a real-world incident involving Tesla CEO Elon Musk. In 2021, then-US President Joe Biden hosted a high-profile summit on expanding the electric vehicle (EV) industry. Notably absent from the guest list was Musk — whose company, Tesla, leads EV sales in the US.

Suraj’s reel suggests that the snub deeply offended Musk, prompting a strategic response. According to Randheer, Musk’s subsequent acquisition of Twitter (now X) and his political endorsements, particularly his support for Donald Trump’s 2024 presidential run — were rooted in that moment of exclusion.

The creator even cheekily calculates the cost of Musk’s influence campaign, citing the widely circulated figure of $277 million, which he equates to ₹2,500 crore in Indian currency. “Just like Pushpa wanted a photo with the CM and didn’t get it, Musk wanted recognition from the President and didn’t get it,” says Randheer in the reel.

The reel has gone viral, gaining attention not only for its creativity but also for sparking a wider conversation on ego, recognition, and the power of influence — both in cinema and real life.
