Hyderabad: Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar on Tuesday directed officials concerned to submit an integrated conservation and management plan for the development of Kakatiya Rudreswara (Ramappa) Temple at Palampet Village in Mulugu district.

The CS was speaking at the first meeting of the Telangana State Heritage Authority here. With Ramappa temple bagging the UNESCO World Heritage Site recognition recently, focus would be on protection and restoration of different monuments in the State. The meeting discussed various aspects, especially heritage oriented issues, pertaining to 26 protected monuments in the twin cities including Qutub Shahi Tombs and Golconda Fort.

Somesh Kumar directed the officials to prepare a brief status note on the protected monuments and also wanted them to submit an inspection report to initiate further action. Specific instructions were issued to submit draft guidelines on buffer zones for Qutub Shahi Tombs before the Greater Hyderabad Heritage and Precincts Committee.

The Authority took stock of overall situation and emphasized the need to have specific systems in place, a senior official, who participated in the meeting, said, adding that a proper agenda will be placed in the next meeting.

MAUD Principal Secretary Arvind Kumar, PRRD Principal Secretary Sandeep Kumar Sultania and other senior officials participated in the meeting.
