Hyderabad: Amid the intense summer heat, Adilabad sizzled at 44.3 degree Celsius topping the high temperatures list of Telangana on Wednesday.

Day temperatures remained high across most parts of the state with Nizamabad recording 44.2 degree Celsius, Medak logging in 42.6 degree Celsius, Khammam with 42.4 degree Celsius and and Mahabubnagar recording 41.9 degree Celsius.

The grueling heatwave continues to dominate with maximum temperatures soaring past 44 degree celsius in northern districts and 40 degree Celsius in Hyderabad.

While the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Hyderabad, has forecast isolated thunderstorms, the mercury is expected to remain high in several regions.

Hyderabad remains under orange alert as temperatures hover above 40 degree Celsius. In the last 24 hours, Hayathnagar emerged as the hottest region at 41 degree Celsius followed by Hakimpet (40.8) Rajendra Nagar (40.5), Begumpet (40.4) and Patancheru (39.4).

The IMD, Hyderabad forecast indicated that isolated places in Hyderabad, Medchal-Malkajgiri, Rangareddy, and Sangareddy are likely to experience thunderstorms and gusty winds on Thursday evening or early hours of Friday.

Despite the potential for localized rain, the IMD warns that there will be no large change in maximum temperatures for the next three days. Looking ahead to May 3, the heatwave conditions are projected to intensify further, with temperatures in Hyderabad and surrounding districts expected to range between 41 degree Celsius and 44 degree Celsius.
