Inter student killed, one injured as bike rams stationary lorry in Adilabad
The injured victim, Neeraj, was shifted to Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS)-Adilabad. His medical condition was stated to be critical.
Adilabad: An Intermediate student was killed on the spot, while another youngster sustained injuries when the motorcycle they were riding crashed into a stationary lorry at Pipperwad village in Jainath mandal on Sunday.
Jainath Sub-Inspector V Purshottam said Induri Harshavardhan (18), an Intermediate II year student from Shantinagar in Adilabad town sustained serious head injuries when the two-wheeler dashed against the lorry parked on NH 44 near Pipperwada village, resulting in instantaneous death for him and grievous injuries to the pillion rider, K Neeraj Reddy belonging to Shantinagar.
Neeraj was shifted to Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS)-Adilabad. His medical condition was stated to be critical.
They were returning to Adilabad after visiting a temple at Kelapur village in Yavatmal district of Maharashtra at the time of the mishap.
Based on a complaint received from Harshavardhan’s father, Vilas, a culpable homicide case was registered against the driver of the lorry. Investigation is on.
