Hyderabad: An interfaith couple standing at Necklace Road were allegedly harassed by a man who objected to their relationship.
The incident took place a few days ago, and a video of the couple being confronted has since gone viral on social media platforms.
In the video, the man is seen questioning a burqa-clad woman for being in the company of a man who reportedly belongs to a different community.
The video drew widespread criticism, with many terming the act as moral policing. After it came to the notice of the police, the Saifabad police registered a case and launched an investigation.
Officers reviewed surveillance footage from the Necklace Road stretch and found that a lone person was involved in the incident. Efforts are underway to identify and apprehend him.
