International Buddhist Summit on World Peace begins at Buddhavanam

A three-day International Buddhist Summit on World Peace–2026 began at Buddhavanam in Nagarjunasagar with participation from 150 delegates representing 22 countries. The summit aims to promote Buddhavanam as a global Buddhist heritage destination and strengthen international Buddhist ties.

Hyderabad: A three-day international Buddhist Summit on World Peace-2026, organised by Buddhavanam and Telangana Tourism Development Corporation, in association with Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, Vietnam, commenced on Friday at Buddhavanam in Nagarjunasagar.

The conference aims to showcase Buddhavanam as a Buddhist Heritage Theme Park to world Buddhist countries, and to encourage them to have their monasteries and educational institutions at Buddhavanam to attract maximum footfalls from India and South-East Asia, according to a press release.


Nearly 150 delegates from 22 countries, including India, Argentina, Bangladesh, Belgium, Cambodia, China, France, Germany, Indonesia, Japan, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Nepal, Reunion, Russia, South Korea, Spain, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam, are taking part in the conference to present papers.

On March 28, several programmes, including World Peace prayer ceremony, unveiling and adoption of the Telangana Peace declaration, will be held.
