Hyderabad: The Rachakonda Anti-Human Trafficking Unit along with the Meerpet police busted an international human trafficking racket and arrested a woman trafficker from Uganda and rescued a woman here on Friday. According to the police, Siana came to India on a visit visa for the purpose of textile business, but accidentally fell and injured herself in 2018 and was under treatment since then. Though her visa expired, she continued staying illegally for her treatment. For her treatment expenses, she decided to organize prostitution in her rented apartment by luring customers online.
“She uploaded a picture of a young woman on Locanto dating app, whom she called from Uganda offering huge money. She gave some money and kept the remaining for her expenses. On the request of customers, she used to send the girl to them. Further enquiries also revealed she had no valid visa and was staying illegally in India,” Rachakonda Police Commissioner Mahesh Bhagwat said.
Officials said the prostitution racket was busted in a decoy operation when the suspect came along with the victim to meet a customer at Balapur X Road in Meerpet.
