Peddapalli: International Plastic Bag Free Day was observed in the General Manager office, Ramagundam-III area of Singareni Collieries Company Limited, on Saturday.
SCCL Director (Operations) S Chandra Sekhar participated in the programme and distributed jute bags to the women employees including forest department and civil department contract labourers.
Speaking on the occasion, the Director said creating environment awareness was part and parcel of the company. Thus, they have secured gold peacock award and third place in Swachchata Maha 2020.
As part of Bharath Ka Amruthotsav, the Singareni company was organizing an awareness programme even in Covid pandemic to inculcate environment awareness among all sections of the society. It was the duty of every citizen to avoid plastic bags and use cloth or jute bags, the Director said.
On the occasion, an environment pledge was performed by the employees of RG-III GM’s office and Adriyala project area.
GM Adriyala project area, NVK Srinivas, RG-III GM, A Manohar, heads of all departments, TBGKS vice-president Goutham Sankaraiah, CMOI vice-president T Nageshwar Rao and others participated in the programme.
