Interstate drug peddling gang held in Hyderabad
Hyderabad: The Trimulgherry police nabbed five members of an interstate drug peddling gang operating from Odisha and seized 1.5 kgs of marijuana and tobacco products late on Wednesday.
The arrested persons are Raju Rawat, Giridhar and B.Shabar, all from Odisha and K.Mahesh Kumar from Lalbazaar and Mohd.Anwar from Bowenpally. The absconding suspect is Pankaj Saraj from Odisha.
According to the police, Rawat and Shabar who are drug consumers, decided to earn easy money through peddling drugs to customers on a high rate. Rawat through Saraj, who is a drug dealer, has been regularly procuring the narcotic drug substance.
About a week ago, Saraj came to Hyderabad with 1.5 kgs of marijuana, met Rawat and handed it over to him and returned to Odisha. On Wednesday, the suspects met at the parking area of Bowenpally market yard and were waiting to sell it to prospective customers.
On receiving information, the Trimulgherry police raided and nabbed them apart from seizing the drugs.
