Nizamabad: An interstate drug-peddling racket was busted by Bodhan Rural police, who arrested four individuals and seized 30 kilograms of Alprazolam worth Rs. 3 crore.

The police also seized products from Surya Prabha Pharma Chem worth Rs. 4 crore at MIDC in Satara, Maharashtra. These arrests and seizures were made under the direct supervision of the Telangana Anti-Narcotics Bureau (TG ANB), with details of the case shared by Nizamabad Commissioner of Police, P. Sai Chaitanya, on Tuesday.

The arrested individuals were involved in the manufacturing and supply of Alprazolam to toddy traders in Telangana. On May 15, the accused—Parameshwar and Shabbir—attempted to deliver 2.5 kg of Alprazolam to another accused, Laxman Goud, at Saloora village.

The accused were apprehended by the Bodhan Rural Police and subsequently sent to judicial remand.

The prime accused, Amar Singh Deshmukh, a resident of Satara, Maharashtra, operated Surya Prabha Pharma Chem Industry and obtained permission to produce fertilizers. Another accused, Babu Rao Baswaraj Kadere, runs a bio-stimulant company.

Similarly, another accused, Laxman Goud, a resident of Saloora, purchased Alprazolam and sold it to toddy depots. Another accused, Vishwanath, operates the Rashi Traders Pharma unit and took permission to produce cosmetics. The police said that the accused conspired to manufacture and transport Alprazolam to toddy depot operators in Telangana.
