Hyderabad: IPEMA–Poultry India, supported by the National Egg Coordination Committee (NECC), celebrated World Protein Day 2026 at the SkyKings Football Academy, Bowenpally, Secunderabad, highlighting the importance of protein in daily nutrition.
Speakers stressed that protein is essential for muscle building, immunity, child growth, and overall health. They noted that a significant section of Indians consume less than the recommended daily protein intake, resulting in hidden nutritional gaps that affect productivity and long-term well-being.
Industry representatives said poultry remains one of the most affordable and high-quality sources of protein for households across the country.
Md Zakeer Hussain, U-17 National Team Coach and AFC Instructor, and Dr Kiraannmayye Addu, Chief Clinical Nutritionist and Lifestyle Consultant, emphasised the importance of balanced protein intake for youth fitness and immunity.
Uday Singh Bayas, President, IPEMA–Poultry India, said protein is the “building block of life” and reaffirmed the sector’s commitment to improving nutritional security. He also invited stakeholders to participate in the 18th edition of Poultry India Expo 2026, scheduled from November 25 to 27 at HITEX, Hyderabad.
