‘Irrigation project in old Karimangar getting copious inflows’
Water is being released into LMD by lifting four flood gates.

Karimnagar: Irrigation projects in the erstwhile Karimnagar district are receiving very good inflows following the incessant rains during the last two days. Water resource management authorities are releasing water into the downstream by lifting crest gates for the safety of reservoirs.
Sripada Yellampalli project is getting 1.35 lakh cusecs. 1.36 lakh cusecs have been released into the downstream by lifting 20 gates. 18.6194 tmc water is available in the reservoir as against its storage capacity of 20.175 tmc.
84,312 cusecs of water is being discharged from Lower Manair Dam by lifting 10 flood gates. LMD is receiving 83,281 cusecs. Of 24.034 tmc capacity, 23.732 tmc water is available in the project.
On the other hand, discharge of water from Mid Manair Dam has been enhanced to 24,000 cusecs from 8,814 cusecs as the project is getting a similar quantity of water from Upper Manair Dam. Water is being released into LMD by lifting four flood gates. 25.527 tmc water is available as against its storage capacity of 27.5 tmc.
