IRS officer Sudhakar Nayak to deliver Amebdkar memorial lecture at SHAR

Nayak, born in a remote thanda in the backward Narayankhed area, has become a source of inspiration for youth in these parts of Telangana.

Sangareddy: Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SHAR) in Sriharikota has invited IRS officer Dr P Sudhakar Nayak, who is currently working as joint commissionerof Income Tax in Mumbai, to deliver Dr BR Ambedkar Memorial Lecture on the occasion of Ambedkar’s 134th birth anniversary on April 24.

Nayak, born in a remote thanda in the backward Narayankhed area, has become a source of inspiration for youth in these parts of Telangana.

He set up an NGO called Sarvodaya Grama Seva Foundation (SGSF) to carry out various activities. The SGSF set up multiple libraries across the state besides supporting the education of the poor and downtrodden.

The SGSF also set up Sarvodaya Women Entrepreneurs Cottage Industries Private Limited in Gongulur in Sangareddy district. The cottage industry employs dozens of women from the village besides selling cold pressed oils, pulses, handmade soaps and others.

The products made by women here were named after river Manjeera. Nayak said that it is indeed a great honour to speak on Ambedkar at SHAR amid a galaxy of space scientists.
