Hyderabad: It’s not every day that a single film makes an entire generation fall back in love with whodunits. But Naveen Polishetty’s ‘Agent Sai Srinivasa Athreya’ did just that. The sharp-witted detective with a knack for humour and suspense turned Naveen into one of Tollywood’s most promising stars.
The film, which released in 2019, was not only praised by critics but also struck gold at the box office. Its smart writing, refreshing storytelling and Naveen’s effortless performance gave the Telugu thriller space a much-needed revival.
Now, the buzz in the Telugu industry is that the fan-favourite detective might soon be back on the job. Sources say that a sequel to Agent Sai Srinivasa Athreya is in the works, with Naveen giving the green light to the idea. The project is said to be in the scripting stage, and if all goes as planned, director Swaroop RSJ and producer Rahul Yadav Nakka will reunite for the second part too.
