Hyderabad: Hyderabad Football Club, who are on a five-match unbeaten streak start favourites against struggling SC East Bengal who are languishing at the bottom of the table with no victories to their name yet, when these two clubs meet on Thursday.

However, Hyderabad coach Manolo Marquez is not taking the match lightly. “The competition is such that any team can beat any other side in the competition. All of us agree that every game is difficult to win. We will try to win and we don’t think it will be easy as they are at the bottom of the table now. We have to play our brand of style to record a win,” he said on the eve of their match.

Hyderabad are at the third place in the points table after their 1-1 draw against FC Goa in their previous match. But the coach said he was not happy with the draw. “I am not happy with the result. When you play a game you always try to get three points. It was a fair score but we started better. We could have taken three points,” he added.

But do the Hyderabad players have a psychological advantage going into the match given the poor run of East Bengal, “They are not in the best at the moment. That is true. But they had a lot of chances to win. They definitely have very good players. The situation is difficult for them. But we have to be focused on our style of game and not to think whether it is easy or not.”

The 53-year-old Spaniard said he is happy with the team’s consistency so far but said they need to keep going. “Yes, I am happy that we are maintaining consistency. You can’t win all the matches. But we are happy with where we are now. We want to keep getting better,” he added.
