Check out the reviews of two new games -- NBA Now 22 and Minion Masters
Hyderabad: This week is all about the spirit of festivity. As the chill of November begins to sneak up on us and we go looking for warmth and delicacy, there is a lot to choose from to rejoice about in safety this year. This week, we review two free games instead of one to give you twice the number of options.
NBA Now 22
The first game, ‘NBA Now 22’ tries to simulate the basketball experience for the mobile phone. A unique experience, everything here is designed in the portrait mode; from menus to the game of basketball and the way you setup your teams.
‘NBA Now 22’ has a wonderfully designed interface as the developers have put in considerable effort to customise the entire interface depending on the team you choose. The gameplay, too, is pretty good in the portrait mode as you build your entire offensive strategy aiming for the hoop on the other side.
In terms of gameplay, this game works like the ‘Ultimate team mode’ on games like ‘FIFA’ where you assemble various cards of players and work towards the strongest team possible.
There are a few drawbacks though as all the inputs in the game are from a single button in the centre; the gameplay can lag at times and can get repetitive as the portrait mode struggles to capture the lateral aspect of basketball. However, if you do like the game, it will keep you engaged for the whole year with the various game modes it offers.
Minion Masters
The second game, ‘Minion Masters’, is a card-based defence game where you juggle mana, time, and a variety of specific creatures to defend your home base. This game is like ‘Clash Royale’ and the strategy required is similar too, but this game stands on its own with some unique creatures with great abilities. The online combat is a smooth experience as well and the matchmaking is fast and responsive.
If you can master the strategy and understand the nuance of the various cards here, this game can be quite competitive and it also has a team mode which is quite fun.
The game experience can get a bit laggy and slow as the number of creatures on the screen get too many as gameplay gets intense. However, if card-based strategy interests you this one could be right up your alley.
