Kothagudem: Bhadrachalam ITDA’s team won overall championship in the state level tribal games and sports meet held at Utnoor of Adilabad district on November 5, 6 and 7.

The local MLA T Venkat Rao and ITDA project officer B Rahul congratulated the team for their success in the event. They said that the team’s collective efforts, the support, advice and guidance provided by the PDs, PETs and coaches led to such a big success.

The MLA said that male and female students must participate in their favourite sports every day; improve their skills; participate at international level to win medals and get jobs in sports quota.

Rahul said that 248 athletes participated from ITDA Bhadrachalam zone along with 28 PDs, PETS and coaches in the sports event. Eight sports including volleyball, kabaddi, kho kho, athletics, archery were held in senior and junior boys and girls categories.

Participating in sports and games was good for health; tribal students have good intelligence and if they were encouraged in their favourite sports they would succeed and win medals, the PO said.

The students should be trained well for upcoming national sports and games events besides providing them necessary sports materials, the ITDA PO told the officials.
