HYDERABAD: The Telangana Employees Joint Action Committee demanded that the State government suspend Excise Commissioner C Hari Kiran immediately for abusing Nizamabad Deputy Commissioner V Somi Reddy.

In a statement issued here on Saturday, Telangana Employees JAC Chairman Lachireddy and Secretary General O Rajasekhar condemned the Excise Commissioner’s abusive attitude.

Immediate action must be taken against the Commissioner of the Excise Department for unjustifiably abusing V Somireddy, they demanded.

“The Excise Commissioner C Hari Kiran used harsh and abusive language towards Somi Reddy and calling him a fool and an idiot. He must be suspended immediately,” JAC Chairman Lachireddy and Secretary General Odanala Rajasekhar demanded.

A Special Committee must be constituted to conduct an inquiry into the conduct of the Excise Commissioner. He has been abusing and humiliating employees, they charged.

“We strongly condemn the behaviour of the Excise Commissioner, who is abusing employees using unparliamentary and harsh language,” they said.

V Somireddy, the Deputy Commissioner of the Nizamabad Division, rendered 30 years of service to the Excise Department. On Thursday, the Excise Commissioner shouted at him for failing to deliver assigned work efficiently.

As a result, Somi Reddy developed ill health and lost consciousness. He was immediately admitted to a private hospital at Nampally. At present, his condition is stable, the department employees said.
