Tadepalli: Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy on Wednesday congratulated sportspersons–PV Sindhu, R. Sathwik Raj and Rajani, who will be taking part in the Tokyo Olympiad to be held from July 23 to August 8.
He gave away cheques for Rs. 5 lakh each to them on the day. The family members of Rajani, who was away in hockey training camp in Bangalore, received the cheque on her behalf.
Jagan also handed over to PV Sindhu the GO copy allotting two acres of land to her for establishing a badminton academy in Visakhapatnam.
Sports minister Avanti Srinivasa Rao and others were present.
