Hyderabad: National Handball Federation president Arishanapally Jaganmohan Rao launched the Olympic selfie point at the Gachibowli Stadium, on Saturday.
The Union Sports Ministry and the Sports Authority of India (SAI) issued guidelines to all State and association bodies to put up selfie points to create awareness about upcoming Tokyo Olympics and encourage the Indian contingent that will set out for the Games soon.
“The Union Sports Ministry’s idea was to give the athletes who are going to participate in the Tokyo Olympics a boost and assure them that every Indian is with them in this journey,” said Jaganmohan after inaugurating it.
He also lauded the Sports Ministry for launching Olympics campaigns. He also congratulated athletes from the Telugu States, PV Sindhu, B Sai Praneeth, and Satwiksairaj Rankiredddy and hoped that they would return with medals.
Sports Authority of Telangana State (SATS) coaches Nanda Gokul Yadav, Sudhakar, Chari, Srinivas and others were also present at the event.
