Hyderabad: Senior film actor Jagapathi Babu who participated in the Green India Challenge by planting saplings on Saturday, appreciated the Haritha Nidhi scheme initiated by the Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao. The actor participated in the Green India Challenge along with director Sampath Nandi and other unit members.
Jagapathi Babu had joined Sampath Nandi on his upcoming movie titled ‘Simbaa’, playing the character of a forest officer, of which the shooting is currently taking place at Dulapally Forest Academy. A message oriented movie, ‘Simbaa’ tells the story of jungles and their protection.
“The steps taken and measures initiated by the Telangana government to protect and preserve nature are commendable. The Green India Challenge programme launched by MP Joginapally Santosh Kumar is instilling confidence among everyone. I am happy that all sections of people have become partners of the programme,” Jagapathi Babu said.
Forest Academy Director PV Rajarao, producer Rajender Reddy, director Murali Manohar Reddy, actors Srinath Maganti, Divi Vadthya and Kabir Duhan Singh, among others took part in planting saplings.
