Hyderabad: TPCC working president T Jagga Reddy’s recommendations for Rajya Sabha nominations to AICC chief Mallikarjun Kharge have further intensified the ongoing verbal feud in Gandhi Bhavan over the nominations.
The TPCC working president met the AICC chief in New Delhi on Thursday. During the meeting, it is learnt that he recommended the names of former MP V Hanumantha Rao and TPCC working president Jetti Kusum Kumar for Rajya Sabha nominations. Already, there is a difference of opinion among leaders in the Telangana unit over the nominations. While BC leaders and other sections are strongly pitching for representation from their communities, upper caste leaders are also lobbying hard for representation.
The State leadership is learnt to have planned to recommend Government Advisor Vem Narender Reddy and former Supreme Court judge B Sudarshan Reddy for the Rajya Sabha. Amid this, Jagga Reddy’s recommendations run contrary to the State leadership’s plans.
The AICC is expected to summon Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and TPCC president Mahesh Kumar Goud for a meeting to discuss the Rajya Sabha nominations from Telangana.
