JAGTIAL: Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister K T Rama Rao has promised to provide all assistance to three children whose father died of Covid recently at Ogulapur in Malyala mandal of the district.

Responding to a tweet to which he was tagged, Rama Rao asked Jagitial district collector G Ravi to send officials to the children and take steps to provide all assistance. The Minister also asked Choppadandi MLA Sunke Ravishankar to coordinate.

Busi Sattaiah, a native of Ogulapur, migrated to Dubai in search of employment a few years ago. Sattaiah, who returned to his native village three months ago, was infected by Coronavirus recently and died on June 4.

His daughters Akshara, Sahitya and son Harshavardhan have literally become destitutes with Sattaiah’s death since his wife Radha is not in a position to raise the children. Sattaiah, who migrated to Dubai to clear Rs 4 lakh debts that he had accumulated, failed to do so. The poor family does not even have their own houses to stay in.

Moved by the plight of the children, neighbour Sai Krishna posted a video clip of the children requesting people for help. Responding to the message, the Minister said: “We will take care of the children immediately. Request Jagitial collector to send a team of officials and ensure the well being and needs of the children are taken care of. MLA Ravishankar garu please coordinate”.

Speaking to Telangana Today, Sai Krishna requested Rama Rao to take steps to ensure that the children continue with their education besides sanctioning a 2BHK house since the family does not own a house. Moreover, the family would be free if Rs 4 lakh debt was settled.

While Akshra is studying Class VIII, Sahitya is pursuing Class III and Harshvardhan is in UKG.
