Jagtial woman kills son, dies by suicide in farm well

A woman in Jagtial district allegedly killed her son by throwing him into a farm well before dying by suicide in the same well at Gudipet village.

Jagtial: A woman allegedly killed her son by throwing him in a farm well before dying by suicide by jumping in the same well on the outskirts of Gudipet village on Thursday.

Police said the reason for the suicide of Gundeti Kavita (36), wife of Dasharatham was not yet known. Preliminary investigations indicated that financial problems coupled with prolonged illness of the boy might have forced the woman to kill her son before ending her life.

On receiving information, police rushed to the well and retrieved the body of Kavita. The body of her son is yet to be fished out. The woman reportedly called up her brother Komuraiah and informed him of her decision. Komuraiah rushed to the spot but by then she had died.
