The year 2020 has prompted all of us to start afresh by rebooting many areas of our life. Fashion, being an expensive luxury is now seen from a different lens, with customers looking to make prudent purchases that are not pricey and last a long time.
Jaipur-based Indian ethnic designer Ruar has come up with a collection of Indian ethnic ensembles that are comfortable and fun for this year’s spring summer. They believe fashion choices have changed and now there is a comeback of premium saris and suits alike for customers.
Keeping this in mind, Ruar has launched a collection of saris and suits that can be used by customers during any time of the year. Titled as ‘Saptapadi 2021’, the collection seeks to be an umbrella of outfits, wherein anyone with a taste for Indian ethnic wear can find and finalise products for this time of the year. The collection was developed during the lockdown and launched when the market was recovering, with customers more receptive to this collection.
Parul Shekhawat, founder and lead designer of Ruar, says, “Saptapadi refers to the ‘pheras’ that the bride and the groom undertake, which is being witnessed by the holy agni. Our team designed a spread of outfits apt for anyone who wants to experience a leaf from the traditional Hindu setting. Moreover, the collection is completely handmade, made with only the purest of fabrics like organza and silk, purposely done to achieve fluidity in outfits that are associated with ceremonies.”
“Coming from the house of Ruar, in our own manufacturing unit, each piece is expected to last a minimum of 20 years, as it is prepared with sight to handover to the passing generations. The karigari, too, is a reflection of the various embroideries of Rajasthan done mostly during weddings which include zardosi, aari, fringe net, beadwork, sequin and gotapatti,” adds Parul.
With the market making quick bounds in recovery, purchasers are once again heading out and shopping for quality ensembles with meaning. With that in mind products from the house of Ruar are a must consideration. Check out the collection on Instagram @Ruar_official. It’s also available at Anantam store in Delhi and Agashe online.
