James Franklin outlines SRH strategy ahead of KKR clash
Franklin mentions that Heinrich Klaasen, who bats at a challenging position in the South African lineup, needs to adapt his approach based on the game situation and focus on building partnerships.
Hyderabad:Sunrisers Hyderabad assistant coach James Franklin says they will be analysing on improving the performances in the powerplay even while stressing it has been the area of concern for many teams in the IPL this season.
Speaking to media on the eve of the match against Kolkata Knight Riders here on Saturday, Franklin says they will be looking at the resources to crack half chances in the powerplay, which has been destructive, for sure.
“We have had a very good run winning the last five games and certainly look to keep winning,” Franklin said.
On Heinrich Klaasen, Franklin says that the South African bats at a tricky position in the batting order and has to make adjustments depending on the situations in the early games and build partnerships.
“Klassy has come fresh into this IPL and playing amazingly well down the order to help the team ‘s cause,” he said.
Reflecting on all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy, Franklin says that he gives them a very healthy six bowling option. “He is bowling much faster this season and really enjoying his role and has been contributing both with bat and ball. He is a genuine all-rounder and is a real impact player,” he said.
Franklin suggested that the pitch doesn’t seem to have lot of grass but he would love to keep the judgement on it for the game day.
