Karimnagar: Jammikunta police arrested NSUI state president and Huzurabad constituency in-charge Balmuri Venkatanarsinga Rao in connection with a complaint lodged against him on Thursday night.

Two cases were booked with Jammikunta and Kothapalli police stations against the NSUI president for placing Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao’s portrait on a donkey on the latter’s birthday at Satavahana University, here on Thursday.

Based on a complaint lodged by TRS urban president T Rajkumar, Jammikunta police registered the case against Venkatanarsinga Rao and arrested him in Huzurabad town on Thursday night while he was proceeding to his residence. Later, he was shifted to Jammikunta police station.
