Announcing the development, Rachakonda Commissioner of Police, G Sudheer Babu, said the couple were underground for 45 years and decided to join the mainstream.

“Seeing the support extended to those who have returned to the mainstream, they decided to lead a peaceful life with their families,” said G Sudheer Babu, Rachakonda Commissioner of Police.

In 1980, he joined the Jana Natya Mandali (JNM) of CPI (ML), People’s War under the leadership of Gummadi Vittal alias Gaddar and worked in it 1986. As a key associate of Gaddar, he collaborated with members like Dappu Ramesh, Daya, Vidya, and Divakar in conducting various cultural programs across nearly 16 States in India.

In 1982, he married Panjala Saroj alias Vidya, who in 2002 died in an exchange of fire in the forest of Ailapur in Kannaigudem mandal of Mulugu district.

“In 1996, he joined the armed wing of the CPI (ML) People’s War Group, specifically the Manuguru Dalam, where he served as a Division Committee Member. In 2003, he was transferred to the Dandakaranya Special Zonal Committee (DKSZC) and served as the incharge of Chaitanya Natya Manch,” sad the Rachakonda Commissioner. During his association with Maoist Party, Sanjeev took part in three Exchange of Fire (EoF).

Perugala Parvathi, joined the party in 1992 and worked with Upper Plateau dalam of CPI (ML) in Nallamala region. She was promoted as a State Committee Member (SCM) in 2018.

Sudheer Babu appealed to all the underground Maoists who are native of Telangana to return to their native villages. “Each and every Maoist who gives up the CPI Maoist movement and joins the mainstream will be provided the benefits under the rehabilitation schemes,” said the official.
